Artist / Artista – Porto, Portugal

I combine molten beeswax with damar resin, then add a bit of oil paint in to introduce color, resulting in luminous, heavily textured encaustic paintings. The name “Encaustic” comes from the Greek word “to burn in,” as each layer of wax must be fused in with the previous layer with either a torch or heat gun to ensure the artwork’s archival durability. The result is layer upon layer of thought and process.

I create unique line based art on my computer, and then translate the digital realm into the physical realm with pen on paper, and the assist of my drawing robot.
